- Why Is Your Furniture Expensive?
Iron Age Office furniture is handcrafted in our Georgia facility using solid maple butcher block, genuine carbon steel, and commercial grade construction methods, with every piece built to order, welded by hand, finished by hand, and inspected before it leaves our shop. Unlike mass produced furniture designed around a price point, our furniture is built to deliver decades of performance, making it an investment in American craftsmanship, premium materials, and long term durability.
- How long does your furniture last?
Iron Age Office furniture is built to last a lifetime, and then some. With proper care, an Iron Age Office desk, conference table, or storage unit can remain in service for a lifetime. Many clients view our furniture as a long-term investment that outlasts multiple generations of conventional office furniture.
- Solid Wood Vs. Laminate
Solid wood and laminate are fundamentally different materials. At Iron Age Office, we use genuine maple butcher block because it offers superior strength, character, and longevity, can be refinished over time, and develops a unique appearance with age, while laminate is a manufactured material that cannot typically be refinished and often has a shorter lifespan in demanding commercial environments.
- Why American made?
We believe craftsmanship matters, which is why every Iron Age Office product is built in our 80,000 square foot Georgia facility, giving us complete control over quality, materials, and production standards. Manufacturing in the United States allows us to support local jobs, source domestic materials whenever possible, and uphold the accountability, transparency, and craftsmanship that define our furniture.
- How is steel finished?
Our steel is finished using a proprietary clear coat system developed in partnership with Milesi finishes to protect the metal while preserving its natural character. This durable finish helps resist moisture, wear, and everyday use without hiding the authentic textures, weld marks, and variations that make each piece unique, allowing the steel to maintain its industrial appearance for years to come.
The result is a durable, commercial grade finish that protects the steel without hiding what makes it unique.
